PROTECT YOUR PEACE

Behaviour Observer

Step back from the moment and gently notice what happened, how it affected you, and what may help you next.

Notice what happened without taking it all on.
You do not need to label or diagnose another person to notice behaviour that repeatedly leaves you confused, less confident, unsafe or unsupported.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Give yourself a moment to settle

You do not need to feel perfectly calm. You will usually notice what happened more clearly when you are not rushing or already overwhelmed. If you can, make a cup of tea, get comfortable, notice the room around you and take a few slow breaths.

You are not trying to prove what another person meant. You are simply noticing what happened, how it affected you and what you may need next.
