REGULATE · RETURN TO BALANCE - NERVOUS SYSTEM REGULATION

Understand what your system is doing — then meet it where it is.

Explore nervous system regulation with Stardust Self. Find supportive ways to settle your system, understand what you need and return to a steadier place.

Learn how stress, protection, emotion and coping can shape what happens inside you — then find practical ways to settle, move, release and reconnect.

NOTICE BEFORE YOU FIX

Regulation is not the same as making yourself calm.

Sometimes your system needs settling. Sometimes it needs movement, safety, release, rest or a different way of coping.

Your nervous system is constantly responding to what is happening around you and inside you. You might become restless and activated, overwhelmed and reactive, exhausted and shut down, or find yourself reaching automatically for something that brings relief.

Regulate helps you recognise those states without immediately judging them. From there, you can begin choosing support that actually fits what your system needs.

Your reactions are information. Start by understanding the state rather than judging the reaction.

EXPLORE REGULATE

Start with what is happening now.

You do not have to work through these pages in order. Follow the pathway that feels closest to what you are experiencing today.

01
UNDERSTAND

Understand my nervous system.

Learn what different nervous-system states can feel like, recognise protective responses and begin noticing what your body may be communicating.

02
IN THE MOMENT

I need help right now.

When everything feels like too much, you do not always need another explanation. Start with what is happening right now and choose something that helps you take the next step.

03
COPING

Understand how I cope.

Coping strategies usually have a reason. Learn what you reach for when discomfort rises and whether the pattern is still helping you.

04
EMOTION & REACTIVITY

Work with strong reactions.

Strong reactions often begin before the visible moment. Learn to recognise what is happening earlier and create more room for choice.

AN IMPORTANT DISTINCTION

Regulation is not about avoiding every difficult feeling.

Sometimes we regulate so we can return to the conversation, boundary, decision, grief or problem with more capacity. The goal is not to never feel activated. It is to have more choice about what happens next.

REGULATION ROOMS

Sometimes you don't need another explanation. You need somewhere to go.

Step into a Regulation Room and choose an experience designed to help you slow down, reconnect with your body, move through activation or create a little more space around what you are feeling.

Need something quick? Need to breathe? Need to move? Need sensory calm? Need bilateral support? Need to understand an emotion?
Regulate

Find the room that meets you where you are.

You don't have to regulate in one particular way. Sometimes you need movement. Sometimes rest. Sometimes less stimulation, a rhythm to follow, or simply somewhere to start.

WHEN YOU HAVE A LITTLE MORE SPACE

Discover helps you explore your values, beliefs, history and repeating patterns with curiosity rather than shame.
